The doors are open for DANISA DENMARK OPEN 2018 presented by VICTOR, and the world's best players are going at it. We have gathered a few recommendations on matches you don’t want to miss the first day of the tournament.

Tuesday morning, this year’s DANISA DENMARK OPEN 2018 presented by VICTOR took off in Odense, Denmark, and Badminton Denmark is more than ready to welcome the world’s best badminton audience through the day.

From the outset, there are several remarkable showdowns to witness, that no badminton enthusiast would nor should want to miss out on.

To make the entire game schedule for Tuesdays matches just a bit more manageable we have gathered a small selection of match-recommendations for must see-matches played through the entire Tuesday.

09.00 AM, Court 1: Indian World Championships-medalist vs. Danish-American world ranked number 10
In the tournament’s first women’s singles match on Court 1 the two-time silver medalist from India, P. V. Sindhu goes up against American Beiwen Zhang who is playing in the Danish badminton club Vendsyssel.

On paper, the Indian may be the favorite to win. Nevertheless, we have seen before what Zhang is capable of.

The two singles have played against each other four times up till now and they both have won two times. The last match was in February this year on Sindhu’s home court at India Open where Zhang managed to pull through and take the victory after three sets 21-18, 11-21, 22-20.

Around 6 PM local time, Court 1: Best Danish women’s single vs. Olympian champion
Early Tuesday night we will get to witness the best Danish women’s singles player, Mia Blichfeldt, playing her chances against Olympian and world champion, Carolina Marin. It is the third time this year that the two women’s singles play against each other. Even though the Dane hasn’t managed to win yet, who knows, third time may be the charm considering Blichfeldt’s home advantage and her good shape due to her Dutch Open triumph this weekend.

Around 7 PM local time, Court 1: Three crazy men’s singles showdowns
After Blichfeldt’s and Marin’s match three clashes in a row of men’s singles titans await.

First up is the Dane Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus against last year’s winner of DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR, Kidambi Srikanth [7]. Previously, the two players have faced each other four times during their careers, and each player brings to previous wins. However, it has been two year’s since they last fought each other at Australian Open 2016, which turned out in favor of the Dane.

When Vittinghus and Srikanth leave the court, it will be taken over by a defending world champion and a defending China Open winner, respectively. In other words, it is Kento Momota and Anthony Ginting that get to spoil the audience. The two world star players played each other just a few weeks ago at the China Open final which turned out in favor of Ginting. Whether or not we will see the recent history repeat itself, time will tell Tuesday night.

The last men we will see playing on Court 1 Tuesday are legendary Lin Dan against 20-year-old Kantaphon Wangcharoen from Thailand. In January this year, the young player managed to overcome the experienced Chinese badminton icon at Indonesia Masters. However, Lin Dan took revenues at Indonesia Open in September and for sure, it will be interesting to see how this third clash plays out.
