Today at 1 pm the first matches of this year’s European Badminton Championships in Kolding will be launced.
43 matches will be played today on the courts in Sydbank Arena in Kolding.
Big names like the world ranked number seven Chris Adcock/Gabrielle Adcock (seeded 2) from England will play their first match against Oliver Schaller/Celine Burkart from Switzerland at 6.15 pm.
Jacco Arends/Selena Piek (5) from the Netherlands will play against Sam Magee/Chloe Magee from Ireland at 4 pm. There is only 15 places between the two doubles on the world ranking so maybe we will be looking forward for an equal match.

Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Zieba (4) from Polen will play there last tournament together and the first challenge for the experienced double is Alberto Zapico/Lorena Usle from Spain at 8.30 pm.
At 7 pm Scott Evans, who plays for the Danish club Team Skælskør-Slagelse will play against Zvonimir Durkinjak, who also plays in Denmark as he is in the lineup for Vendsyssel.
At the first day of this year’s European Badminton Championship all the Danish mixed doubles will enter the courts. In total four Danish matches will be played in Sydbank Arena as Emil Holst is playing against Felix Burestadt from Sweden at 8.30 pm.

Mathias Christiansen/Sara Thygesen will be the first Danes to enter the championships when they play against Marvin Emil Seidel/Linda Efler from Germany at 6.15 pm.
At 7 pm Søren Gravholt/Maiken Fruergaard will enter the courts together with their opponents from the Czech Republic Alzbeta Basova/Jakub Bitman.
The world class pair and defending european champions from 2016 and 2014 Joachim Fischer/Christinna Pedersen (1) will be on the court at 7.45 pm when they face Ben Lane/Jessica Pugh from England.
