No doubles troubles for Danish boys

3th seed Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe from Denmark entered the World Championships 2014 on home ground with a safe victory against opponents from Indonesia.

Last year at the World Championships 2013 in Guangzhou in China, the Danish men’s double Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe suffered a defeat in the final from the sworn enemies Mohammed Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan from Indonesia.

At this year’s World Championship, they don’t have the possibility to take their revenge, as the Indonesian top par withdrew just before the tournament started. But at least, they got to beat another Indonesian pair, the more unknown Danny Bawa Chrisnanta and Chayut Triyachart, 21-8, 21-16.

- It’s nice to get a good start in a tough tournament, Carsten Mogensen says.

- We don’t want to think so much about last year’s result. It’s just a great pleasure to be here and play, Mathias Boe added.

The Danes are playing their next match Thursday against neighbours from Germany, Michael Fuchs and Johannes Schoettler, who earlier today made it to the third round. Read about their match right here:
